First Comp for the year!

The first committee meeting was held last Saturday at the wall. The wall was doing it’s thing which meant there were plenty of members on hand. At one stage KT was making a point when Neddy Cox pulled into a little tube behind him - it made it all a bit difficult to concentrate but the in the end decisions were made thanks to the Coopers distillery. The upshot is the first comp is on Sunday Feb 28 to avoid all the Great Ocean Sports activities the day before. There will be a hard copy of the calendar to pick up on the day. It is essentially the same as the draft we sent out earlier.  Stay tuned!!

AGM a fizzer - November 23 is the day to step up!

The AGM was held Monday 12 November, all positions were vacated. Unfortunately only the outgoing committee attended with only one apology. We acknowledge that it was a perfect evening and the swell was going off down south, however the AGM is seen as an important event on the Boardriders calendar. Electing a new committee brings new blood, new ideas and new energy to the club. We will be holding another meeting at Iluka Café Monday 23 November at Iluka Café to discuss the way forward for the club. Anyone that has been on the committee in the past will tell you that it is not a difficult job; rather, it is fun and a great way to have input into your club. We welcome all members to come along and contribute to the running of their club. Remember many hands make light work!

See you there.

Adam Lalor, Luke Lalor and Dan Armstrong are off to Torquay for the Ocean and Earth Teenage Rampage. They get three surfs and then the best four totals make a final … its a good system because the kids get to have a fair go rather than and instant knockout situation. Hope you get some swell!!
